Who We Are
We are a small breeder, located just outside of Milledgeville, Ga. To us Golden Retrievers are the perfect dogs. Smart, friendly, and loyal, they make excellent companions as well as great working dogs. They are an extremely social breed- more than willing to play tug of war or fetch all day, but just as content to sit beside you. Our goal is to provide you with the same pride and enjoyment we experience daily as owners of a golden. All of our dogs meet all the Orthopedic Foundation for Health, OFA, clearances (Hips, Elbows, Heart, and Eyes) and each puppy is evaluated prior to going to their new homes. We abide by all guidelines set by the Golden Retriever Club of America, GRCA.
In addition to the health clearances, each of our dogs hold AKC titles either in Hunting, Rally, or Obedience. We like to think that we offer puppies with both beauty AND brains, ha-ha. Our dogs, and their puppies, are raised right alongside our three children, two cats, and a plethora of farm fowl, so that by the time they are ready to go to their new homes they are completely comfortable around other people and animals.
ETHICS
As a breeder we strictly abide by the Golden Retriever Club of America’s code of ethics in all of our breedings. Like many large breed dogs, Goldens can have health problems, which is why we go to such great lengths to ensure that we are doing everything that we can to raise healthy puppies. We do this by making sure both parents have passed all four OFA Health Clearances (Hips, Elbows, Heart, and Eyes) before we ever consider breeding.
Our next priority is temperament. Each one of our Goldens have awesome personalities and temperaments. They are talented intellectually as well and have the titles to prove it! Whether in the ring for Rally or Obedience, or out in the field at a Hunt Test, our dogs are able to interact well with large groups of people (and their dogs) and yet still perform outstandingly to commands given in competition. We like to think we have the best of both worlds, beauty AND brains!
