If you are interested in being considered for one of our puppies please fill out the following application in its entirety. Applications must be completed by the interested person/family. Applications filled out for other people or families will not be considered. Once we have received your application, you can expect a phone interview to follow. We at Jackson Farm Kennels also reserve the right to contact your preferred veterinarian as a character reference. Your application should be as detailed as possible, as it will later be used in our “pairing” process once the puppies have been evaluated at 6 weeks of age.
All of our puppies are sold with AKC Limited Registration and you will be expected to sign a Spay/Neuter Contract. Males are to be kept “intact” until they have reached the age of 16-20 months. Females are not to be spayed unless they have gone through at least one heat cycle, or have reached the age of 16 months. These babies have a great deal of growing to do, and the best chance they have of having healthy bones is for you to let them grow to their fullest potential. At 16 months maturity, their long bones have fully developed and it is considered safe to neuter/spay.
Puppy Selection:
From the moment our puppies are born, all of us at Jackson Farm Kennels, are very much involved in the growth and development of each and every one of them. We are literally a “hands on” breeder and family. We are there, helping when needed, during delivery, and stay by their side day and night during those first two critical weeks of life. We begin handling them on day one and continue this practice up until the day they go home with you. We do our best to keep you involved as much as we can during these first early weeks through pictures and videos. Once the puppies reach an appropriate age we will allow families to come visit.
As the puppies grow and their personalities begin to “bloom” during those first weeks we work tirelessly to expose them to as many sounds, textures, and situations as possible. It is our goal that each of them is a well-adjusted, confident puppy. Once they have reached 6-7 weeks of age we pair each puppy with the family that we feel is the best “match” for their personality and temperament. This is why detailed answers in your puppy application are SO important! This “match making” practice is so successful simply because we are around these babies 24/7 and get to watch their personalities bloom and grow.
